Wednesday, September 9th

Ashton Jeanty, Raiders - Right Ankle

Jeanty returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since suffering a right ankle injury on Aug. 23. His return provides further optimism that he will be available for Week 1 against the Dolphins.

Brock Bowers, Raiders - Knee

Bowers underwent a meniscus trim Tuesday in Dallas after a knee injury suffered during training camp was diagnosed last week. The All-Pro tight end is expected to miss one or two games, including Week 1 against the Dolphins.

Jonathon Brooks, Panthers - Groin

Brooks was limited in practice due to groin soreness. Head coach Dave Canales said he is “very, very confident” Brooks will play Sunday.

Emeka Egbuka, Buccaneers - Toe

Egbuka practiced in full Wednesday after the Buccaneers gave him nearly a month off to allow his toe injury to heal. The team’s No. 1 wide receiver is expected to be available for Week 1.

Jeremiyah Love, Cardinals - Ankle

Love was limited in practice Wednesday as he continues to recover from the high ankle sprain he suffered during the Cardinals’ preseason opener. His availability for Week 1 against the Chargers remains uncertain.

Alfred Collins, 49ers - Knee

Collins suffered a torn patellar tendon during Tuesday’s practice in Australia and will miss the entire 2026 season. Head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed the season-ending injury Wednesday.

Nick Bosa, 49ers - Right ACL

Bosa said he “couldn’t be happier” with his recovery and is hoping to play without limitations in Week 1 against the Rams. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said the 49ers will still have to “be smart” with Bosa’s workload after his limited practice time leading into the opener.

Tuesday, September 8th

Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs - Left Knee

Mahomes is expected to start Week 1 against the Broncos as he completes his recovery from surgery to repair a torn ACL and LCL in his left knee. He has not missed a practice since being cleared for full football activities in July, and head coach Andy Reid said Mahomes is “likely” to start barring a setback.

Rome Odunze, Bears - Foot

Odunze is considered day-to-day with a foot injury after leaving practice early Thursday. Head coach Ben Johnson said Odunze is not expected to practice Tuesday but the Bears are “hopeful” he will be available for Week 1 against the Panthers.

Aaron Donald, Rams - Return to Play

Donald will not travel to Australia and has been ruled out for Week 1 against the 49ers as he continues to ramp up following two years away from football. His earliest possible return will be Week 2.

TreVeyon Henderson, Patriots - Ankle

Henderson has been ruled out for Wednesday’s Week 1 opener against the Seahawks due to his lingering ankle injury. He has not practiced since suffering the injury Aug. 24.

Monday, September 7th

Ja’Marr Chase, Bengals - Knee

Chase returned to practice Monday after being sidelined with a hyperextended knee. Head coach Zac Taylor said Chase “looked good” and was encouraged by his progress, keeping him on track to play Week 1 against the Buccaneers.

Tee Higgins, Bengals - Heel

Higgins returned to practice Monday after dealing with a heel contusion. Taylor said Higgins “looked good” and was encouraged by his progress, with the receiver continuing to trend toward playing Week 1 against the Buccaneers.

Jonathon Brooks, Panthers - Soreness

Brooks missed his third consecutive practice due to general soreness. Head coach Dave Canales remains hopeful Brooks will be available for Week 1 against the Bears, but his continued absence leaves his status worth monitoring when the Panthers release their first official injury report Wednesday.

Emeka Egbuka, Buccaneers - Toe

Egbuka participated in warmups and ran routes during Monday’s practice, a step forward after being limited to side work last week. He continues to progress from his toe injury and is trending toward being available for Week 1 against the Bengals.

TreVeyon Henderson, Patriots - Ankle

Henderson did not practice for the second consecutive day due to an ankle injury and has now been sidelined since Aug. 24. With the Patriots opening the season Wednesday night against the Seahawks, his Week 1 availability is increasingly in doubt.

Jeremiyah Love, Cardinals - Ankle

Love continues to progress from the high ankle sprain he suffered Aug. 13 and was “moving around” during Monday’s walk-through. Head coach Mike LaFleur said he feels “good” about Love’s chances of playing Week 1 against the Chargers, with his practice status Wednesday expected to provide more clarity.

Michael Penix Jr., Falcons - Knee

Penix will be inactive for Week 1 against the Steelers as he continues his recovery from last season’s knee injury, with Tua Tagovailoa named the starter and Cooper Rush serving as the backup. Head coach Kevin Stefanski declined to commit to a quarterback plan beyond Week 1.

Alec Pierce, Colts - Ankle

Pierce is expected to play Week 1 against the Ravens after returning from a five-month absence following ankle surgery in March. Head coach Shane Steichen said Pierce “should be good to go” after five practices and that he is “feeling really good” as the Colts continue to ramp up his workload.

Tyler Smith, Cowboys - Left Thumb

Smith will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb after attempts to play through the injury were unsuccessful. He will be placed on injured reserve and is expected to miss four to six weeks, including at least the first four games of the season.

Nick Bosa, 49ers - Right ACL

Bosa will play Week 1 against the Rams, according to 49ers defensive coordinator Raheem Morris. The star edge rusher is set to make his return after tearing his right ACL in Week 3 last season.
