Aaron Donald Health, Injury Updates & History

Will miss Week 4 with a back injury.

Donald did not practice Wednesday because of back soreness, the Rams defensive tackle is dealing with the issue while already carrying an increased workload up front, with his participation later in the week likely providing more clarity on his Week 4 status

Donald will not travel to Melbourne and has been ruled out for Thursday's season opener against the 49ers as he continues working back into football shape following a two-year retirement, the veteran defensive tackle re-signed with the Rams on Aug 30 but needs additional time to regain full conditioning, with his return potentially coming in Week 2 against the Giants

Aaron Donald ends retirement to sign a one-year $20 million deal with the Rams for 2026, capping a two-year layoff, after battling a torn rib cartilage injury in the 2020 playoffs and a season-ending high ankle sprain in 2022 that required surgery and cost him six games, then bouncing back for a solid 2023 season before retiring at 32, and now returning at 35 through a slow, deliberate comeback process with the Rams likely easing him in as a rotational piece early on

Will sit due to rest as the Rams have locked up a playoff position
