Najee Harris Injury: Lisfranc Sprain Not a Worry For Week 1

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris revealed Sunday that he has been dealing with a Lisfranc sprain in his left foot for roughly a month.

When the injury happened in practice on Aug. 1, head coach Mike Tomlin downplayed the incident by saying Harris' “foot got stepped on.”

Clearly the injury was a bigger deal than Tomlin let on, but the Pro Football Docs are not downgrading Harris' season SIC score because he should be ready to go Week 1.

The second-year running back played for first time in preseason last Sunday and acknowledged after the game that he felt rusty.

Harris rushed four times for 10 yards and caught three passes for 11 yards. He also hurdled a Lions defender.

The 24 year old finished with 1,200 rushing yards and 7 rushing touchdowns plus 74 catches for 463 yards and 3 touchdowns in his rookie season.

Pittsburgh opens their schedule on the road against the Bengals on Sunday, Sept. 11.

Star pass rusher T.J. Watt suffered a low-grade MCL sprain in the preseason finale on Sunday, but the Pro Football Docs believe he has a chance to play Week 1.
