Has been diagnosed with Achilles tendinitis, he is unlikely to play in Week 2, and will not likely have a full workload when he does return

Ruled out of week 1 matchup due to calf/achilles injury, clearly saving him for the rest of the season as the 49ers don't want him to re-aggravate injury and make it worse, clearly would be lacking in burst and cutting ability which is why he is sitting. Reportedly big chance he misses Week 2 as well

Limited in practice throughout the week and officially listed as Questionable before Week 1's matchup vs the Jets, however our analysis remains and we believe the injury to his calf to have minimal effect on his productivity and workload

McCaffrey does have a concerning calf injury that could linger, thus he was shut down during the preseason, however, we anticipate Christian McCaffrey to be minimally affected by this calf injury and it should not hinder his performance to start the season.
