McCaffrey had an injury-riddled 2024 starting with a calf strain that developed into bilateral Achilles tendonitis, missed most of the season, returned in Week 10 for four games, then was shut down with a PCL sprain in his right knee, appears to be in a good place physically this offseason, participated fully in OTAs, ramped up work during minicamp, said he challenged his body and felt encouraged by the response, expected to be fully healthy for training camp

Dec 2, 2024

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said on Monday that the PCL injury Christian McCaffrey sustained on SNF in W13 could be season ending, only because of how late in the season it happened, if no playoff chase, he shouldn't play, we believe it could be a Grade 1 sprain, he may have sustained the injury on a shoestring tackle attempt where he fell directly on his right knee, he tried to continue after that play but was unable to and it appeared he injured himself on that play, but it was the shoestring the play prior, he will continue to be tested for a more official diagnosis but McCaffrey will miss some time

Worry for right knee PCL sprain on a shoestring tackle in the first half of today's game, likely not season-ending, will not need surgery, possible meniscus injury, good news is that it is not a long-term injury and not an Achilles injury and will not need surgery, will need an MRI to determine exact nature of the injury, could be a 2-4 week injury

Worry for right knee PCL sprain on a shoestring tackle in the first half of today's game

Nov 11, 2024

Ran for 39yds on 13 carries in his first action of the season, he played 54 of 59 snaps, which came as a surprise, he needs time to ramp up and might have a lighter load going forward as he proceeds with his recovery to be more effective at the end of the season

Nov 9, 2024

He is set to make his season debut after dealing with bilateral achilles tendonitis, if he does play, he shouldn't be expected to get his full workload of carries as Jordan Mason might still get the lion's share of carries while he makes his return from an AC joint sprain

Nov 7, 2024

It's November and we always said his return from bilateral achilles tendonitis wouldn't be until November, it is time, his practice window is open and barring a setback he will play this week W10 for the 49ers, workload is a different question Jordan Mason should be healthy from his AC joint injury, he might be the primary running back and CMC is used on third downs, we doubt that he's going to take 60 snaps in his first week back but it's still great to see him back finally for all the fantasy owners

Nov 4, 2024

His practice window has opened and there's a possibility he could be available for W10, he'll need to have a full week of practice with no setbacks and he could split time with Jordan Mason who is also coming off an injury of his own
