Mike White is reportedly expected to miss the next two games with broken ribs he suffered Week 14 against the Bills.
As the Pro Football Docs detailed Friday, White's ailing ribs leave him vulnerable to a potential lung injury if hit the wrong way.
The Jets face the Jaguars next Thursday and White's rib issues will not be resolved by then.
White admitted that doctors told him he wasn't cleared for contact this week for that exact reason.
Zach Wilson will get his first start since being benched after Week 11.
White has throw for 315, 369 and 268 yards – respectively – in his three starts for Wilson.
Wilson has averaged 182.7 passing yards in 7 starts this season.
The Lions (6-7) are favored by 1.5 points at home over the Jets (7-6) and the over/under is 44.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
