Aaron Judge Makes Return to Yankees For Weekend Series Against Orioles

Nearly two months after injuring his right big toe making a running catch against the Dodgers, New York Yankees star right fielder Aaron Judge will return in Friday’s game against the division leading Orioles.

Judge has missed 42 games with his turf toe injury, during which the Yankees went 24-29 while averaging 3.8 runs a game.

When Judge was injured, New York was averaging 5 runs per game. They are 30-19 with him this season.

When the details of his original injury emerged, the Pro Baseball Docs projected he would be out past the All-Star break because of how important the back foot is during the swing.

Unfortunately, that was the case and Judge required two PRP injections to heal the ligaments in his foot. The 5-time All-Star had 19 home runs when he was injured, ranking in the Top 5 of the American League at the time.

Shohei Ohtani leads the majors with 36 home runs in 99 games.

Impact on the Yankees

The Yankees are expected to be buyers at the deadline with Judge back in action. They are 5-5 in their last 10 games and have 19 games remaining against AL East opponents.

New York currently sits 2.5 games behind the Blue Jays for the last spot in the AL Wild Card race.
