The New York Yankees do not expect to have Aaron Judge available for their Wild Card Series as the star outfielder continues to recover from a right calf strain.
“We're planning on him not being a part of that,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday.
Judge has not been completely ruled out, but New York is preparing to open the postseason without him.
Aaron Judge's Calf Injury
Judge was placed on the injured list Friday with a right calf strain, two days after exiting a game against the Minnesota Twins. Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Aaron Judge received a PPP injection on Monday to address his calf strain.
The calf injury follows an already injury-plagued 2026 season for Judge. He has missed more than 90 days this year between a fractured right rib and the subsequent right calf strain.
The Yankees have gone 48-41 without Judge in the lineup this season.

Judge is batting .241 with 18 home runs, 41 RBIs and an .871 OPS during the 2026 season.
His potential absence would leave the Yankees without one of their top offensive players for the Wild Card Series.
While Boone said the Yankees are planning to be without Judge, the outfielder has not officially been ruled out, leaving open the possibility that his status could change as the series approaches.
