Joel Embiid Health, Injury Updates & History

Currently working through a left foot sprain and has been unable to practice or play so far the week of Jan. 6th and is questionable for the Jan. 10th game vs New Orleans

Returned to action on Friday Dec. 13, however he was hit in the face in the first half and sustained a right maxillary sinus fracture, he'll need a CT scan, likely will avoid surgery, when he returns he'll need to play with a mask, hopefully could be ready by Christmas

In an update to his recovery, Embiid has been able to participate fully in practice and 5-on-5 scrimmages, the Sixers may still be taking a slow approach to his availability, he might be available this week however in a non-medical issue, Embiid may have had a verbal altercation with a reporter that allegedly included Embiid shoving said reporter, it remains to be seen whether or not Joel will receive a suspension

Played game 3 after being diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy this week and still recovering from the meniscus issue in his left knee however scored a career-high 50 points and will be playing through these ailments for the remainder of the playoffs.

In game 1, by video analysis suffered a possible left knee contusion with a potential re-aggravation of the same issue he has been dealing with all season, In game 2 did not move well around the court especially in the 2nd half but still managed to play 39 minutes.

Expected to return this week after being out since Jan. 30 recovering from left meniscus surgery. He has recently completed full practices with no knee issues - a promising sign he is close to return for the run to the playoffs.
