Kyler Murray Health, Injury Updates & History

Ruled out for the Vikings Week 2 matchup versus the Chicago Bears.

Murray entered the concussion protocol after suffering a head injury during Sunday's win over the Packers, the Vikings quarterback was ruled out in the first quarter after taking a hard hit while scrambling, head coach Kevin O'Connell said Murray was feeling pretty good Monday but will be evaluated day by day, leaving his Week 2 availability against the Bears uncertain

Recovered from the right midfoot ligament injury that ended his 2025 season after five games. Murray was a full participant throughout the Vikings' offseason program and enters training camp without restrictions while competing with J.J. McCarthy for the Week 1 starting job. With no reported setbacks in his recovery, the foot injury is not expected to impact his availability heading into the 2026 season.

Added to the Injured Reserve list due to a mid-foot sprain suffered in Week 5, he will now miss a minimum of four games.

Kyler appears to be recovering well, but the Cardinals will continue with Brissett, and according to Tom Pelissero, "Kyler will play a role" in Week 9

Listed as questionable with a foot injury after returning to practice on Friday, though the likelihood is that he will miss Week 6 vs the Colts

Did not practice due to a right foot injury, analysis from Pro Football Doc noted he was not throwing the same way after being checked, completing mostly short passes and struggling to push off his back right foot, his accuracy and mobility appeared limited, similar to how Brock Purdy was affected by a turf toe injury, though it is not confirmed to be turf toe for Murray, there is no clear video of when the injury occurred, but it is evident his right plant foot is compromised which could impact his performance if he plays this week

Sustained a foot injury during Week 5 action, he finished the game but there was obvious discomfort that was affecting his accuracy throughout the second half, Murray will be evaluated during practice this week to establish his availability for the next game

Dealt with a lingering knee injury at times during the 2024 season but overall had a healthy year, played all 17 games throwing for 3851 yards and 21 touchdowns, previously had a season-ending knee injury in 2023 which he says he’s fully recovered from, and is expected to be fully healthy to start camp

Sustained a hard hit in the first half of MNF that may be a hip pointer, he exited for one play before returning but it's something to keep an eye on in case it becomes a bigger issue throughout the second half
