Joe Burrow Health, Injury Updates & History

Enjoyed a healthy and productive offseason now over a year from a surgically repaired wrist, he's now, by all accounts, fully recovered from that injury and we have no issues for Burrow heading into the 2025 season

Is still exhibiting a level of discomfort with his surgically repaired wrist, he was examined on the sideline in the third quarter and was seen trying and taking off gloves but ultimately had a strong game throwing 21/29 for 164 yards

Started last season with a strained calf and never really got a good start from there. He then suffered a torn wrist ligament in Week 11. Burrow has been cleared for all activities that do not involve contact and has even taken piano lessons to aid in his wrist recovery. With Burrow’s innovative rehab approach and a focused offseason, there’s optimism for a strong comeback.

Following a Week 11 wrist injury that required season-ending surgery, he has resumed throwing and confirmed that he is cleared to do everything that doesn't involve contact,

Will undergo surgery to repair a wrist ligament and miss the rest of the regular season - potential playoff return will depend on which ligament - exited Thursday's game in the first half and was unable to throw - wasn't on injury report for wrist prior to W11

Out for second half, per head coach Zac Taylor - likely dealing with a right wrist injury involving the ulnar nerve, which affects grip - could be a TFCC tear which would require a scope surgery that he could return from later this season

Is questionable to return due to a right wrist injury, suspicion is the QB is dealing with an ulnar nerve issue that is effecting his grip, chance Burrow sits out remainder of game as the Bengals assess severity

Calf injury essentially behind him at this point - 6 rushes for 43 yards against 49ers in W8

Resting his bothersome calf injury through the bye should have him looking more mobile this week - injury should be nearly behind him at this point

Will continue to play but calf issue is likely to linger deep into October - will continue to get the ball out quick and not run outside of the pocket
