Joe Burrow Health, Injury Updates & History

Burrow is dealing with back tightness that limited his work during Wednesday's practice, the Bengals quarterback described the issue as normal game soreness and said it will not prevent him from playing Sunday against the Texans, though his practice workload for the remainder of the week remains uncertain

Participated fully in mandatory minicamp after recovering from surgery for a Grade 3 left turf toe injury and is expected to be a full participant for training camp, though his extensive injury history will continue to be monitored.

Is set to make his return from a Grade 3 toe sprain in Week 2 this week vs the Ravens on Thanksgiving Day, he will not be 100%, and will operate in shotgun snaps, but he is ahead of schedule in his return

Despite being ahead of the expected timeline, Burrow’s return is expected, as he has been a full participant in practice this week, Burrow, despite not fully recovering from his left turf toe injury, should still be able to throw effectively from the pocket since it affects his front (left) foot, however, his mobility will be limited, and he’ll likely operate exclusively from shotgun due to the difficulty of pushing off under center, to minimize the risk of re-injury, he’ll have protection on the toe, such as a steel plate or taping.

Burrow, who was previously thought to be targeting a return to action on November 27 against the Ravens, participated fully in practice, his listed participation level is both noteworthy and encouraging, but it remains to be seen if he will be able to play this weekend against the Patriots.

Set for surgery on his Grade 3 turf toe injury, setting at minimum a 3 month timetable for recovery, which is a window of mid-December around Week 17 or 18, effectively, ending his season

Left turf toe has been confirmed by the Bengals and Joe Burrow has sustained a Grade 3 turf toe injury, requiring surgery, which would put him out at least 3 months, if not, the rest of the season

By limited video suffered a left turf toe injury, limped off, sent for an in-game MRI to determine severity of the injury, will not return today, if significant it could be a multi-week absence

By limited video his right ankle/foot was trapped under a defender, no clear view yet, seems unlikely to return today based on it impacting his push off/back side
