Twins Shortstop Carlos Correa Leaves Early After Hit by Pitch to Forearm

Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa left the June 27 match prematurely after being hit by a pitch on his forearm. 

According to our panel of Pro Baseball Docs, the worst-case scenario would have been an isolated radial fracture requiring surgery. Fortunately, initial X-rays showed no fracture, allowing Correa to escape the worst outcome.

Despite Correa's optimism about playing on Friday, June 28, we anticipate that he will need a day or two of rest before rejoining the lineup. 

Although he may experience some pain and swelling, the lack of a fracture means that the Twins and Correa have dodged a bullet. The team will likely proceed with caution to ensure he fully recovers.

Currently, Correa has contributed significantly to the Twins' offense, with 8 home runs and 38 RBIs, placing him second on the team. His presence in the lineup is crucial, and ensuring his health will be vital for the Twins' continued success this season.
