Angels' two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani was hit by a 102 MPH line drive in his left foot in the third inning on Tuesday night.
Shohei Ohtani Injury Update
Precautionary x-rays were negative and the Pro Baseball Docs carry no concern going forward for Ohtani, who is expected to play in the series finale on Wednesday.
After being helped off the field by two of the horde of Angels' trainers that came out to check on the 28-year-old, Ohtani stayed in the contest and threw six shutout innings and hit his 25th home run of the season before being replaced in the eighth inning.
He was visibly slow and hobbled out of the box on a groundball single in the fifth inning but didn't appear limited on the mound or in the field.
Despite suffering a groin strain, back spasms, and now a bruised left foot, Ohtani has yet to go to the IL or miss a scheduled start and joined Babe Ruth in 1918 as the only players in MLB history with 10 pitching wins and 10 home runs in a season.
