Rockies third baseman Kris Bryant was absent from Tuesday's lineup for a second straight day as back issues continue to plague his 2022 campaign.
Kris Bryant Injury Update
The former Cub missed nearly a month before returning from the 10-day IL on Saturday. Bryant dealt with back soreness and stiffness before he was placed on the IL on April 25.
He played on Saturday and Sunday, going 1-6 with two walks and three strikeouts, then was scratched from Monday's game with back soreness and sat today as well.
The Rockies reportedly consider Bryant day-to-day but manager Bud Black told reporters before Tuesday's game that an IL stint is “possible.”
“He’s going through some exercises (but he’s) still not right so he’s going to continue (working) with the medical staff,” Black said.
The 30-year-old received a cortisone injection in his back on May 9, but the return of the back soreness is not a good sign for his longevity.
Ryan McMahon will continue to start at third until Bryant can return. McMahon is hitting .248 with 4 home runs and 21 RBIs in 41 games.
Rockies World Series Odds
Colorado is +25000 to win the NL West and +400000 to win the World Series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
