As NFL teams make their push towards the playoffs, several teams are dealing with injuries to their quarterbacks. Pro Football Doc analyzes the injuries ahead of Week 13.

Daniel Jones - Fibula

Jones is playing through a fractured fibula. He had his worst passing performance of the season in Week 12, throwing for just 181 yards in the overtime loss to the Chiefs, a season low. According to Pro Football Doc, Jones has a suspected right fibula fracture — likely in the shaft, not the ankle. He can play through it at QB since the tibia handles most of the weight-bearing. Head Coach Shane Steichen said Jones is good to go for Week 13.

Aaron Rodgers - Wrist

Rodgers suffered a fractured left wrist in Week 11. He missed Week 12, but head coach Mike Tomlin said he was optimistic Rodgers would return in Week 13. According to Pro Football Doc, the type of splint Rodgers is practicing with gives him the opportunity to play through the injury since his thumb is free. The question is whether the Steelers feel comfortable with Rodgers’ ability to grip the ball. Was a full participant on Thursday and will play in Week 13.

Jayden Daniels - Elbow

Daniels suffered a dislocated elbow at the end of Week 9. Although the injury looked grotesque, Pro Football Doc maintained it was not season-ending. Daniels did not suffer any fractures, and there is a good chance he returns this season. Although he has yet to be cleared for contact, he is practicing in a limited fashion. Head coach Dan Quinn stressed the importance of Daniels returning this season so he can continue to develop, as he is only in his second year. He has been ruled out for Week 13.

Baker Mayfield - Shoulder

Mayfield suffered an AC joint sprain in his non-throwing shoulder in Week 12 and did not finish the game. According to Pro Football Doc, if the Sunday night game had been closer, Mayfield could have returned. He also noted that Mayfield could play through the injury with a numbing injection. On Wednesday, Mayfield told reporters, “Every game, in my eyes, is a must-win playoff scenario, but understanding that, you know, if I sit one game out ... that provides me to be healthier for down the stretch.” On Friday, HC Todd Bowles said Mayfield is trending towards playing.

J.J. McCarthy - Concussion

McCarthy reported concussion-like symptoms after the Vikings’ loss in Week 12 and entered concussion protocol. He was able to log a limited practice on Wednesday, but the Vikings also signed Desmond Ridder to their practice squad, signaling the possibility that McCarthy will be sidelined and rookie Max Brosmer could start.
