For a multitude of reasons, we don't expect Jayden Daniels to be available to play for Week 8, his rib cartilage injury can be extremely painful due to the mechanics of the injury, if he won't be effective, that could leave him susceptible to other injuries, he's a promising rookie but a week without practice isn't feasible, a matchup vs Caleb Williams isn't much of a concern to the Commanders, and Marcus Mariota is a capable quarterback against a non-divisional opponent, Daniels may miss time beyond this week as well

Per head coach Dan Quinn, Daniels is week-to-week with a rib/soft cartilage injury, the injury does not appear to be serious, but it will require treatment and monitoring, he will likely miss Week 8 vs Chicago, but not much more time beyond that
