New York Yankees Spring Training Injury Report

Aaron Judge - SIC score 71

Back in the lineup after missing time with abdominal strain. Judge said it's likely wear-and-tear from swinging all offseason to correct his mechanics that were altered by last year's right big toe injury. Core muscle surgery is likely in his future but he could tough out the injury this season and delay surgery until the offseason.

Gerrit Cole - SIC score 27

MRI reportedly detected inflammation and swelling in pitching elbow but no ligament tear. Relatively good news but out until at least June. The key will be determining where the swelling and inflammation came from if they are not related to a ligament tear. Tommy John surgery is still a possibility as he is going for a second opinion on the injury.

Giancarlo Stanton - SIC score 88

After missing a big chunk of time last season with a left hamstring strain, he has slimmed down in the offseason. This should minimize future health issues and improve his ability to run the bases.

DJ LeMahieu - SIC score 36

Will open season on 10-day IL while recovering from a bone bruise in his right foot that has residual swelling - heading for a second MRI to determine return timeline.

Oswald Peraza - SIC score 37

Diagnosed with a right shoulder subscapularis strain that will keep him out until mid-May at the earliest. He will begin the season on IL and potentially cause the Yankees to sign a veteran infielder to provide depth.

Lou Trivino - SIC score 10

Out for at least the first half of the 2024 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery on May 3, 2023.

Jasson Dominguez - SIC score 43

The top Yankees' prospect has increased his throwing to 75 feet while coming off Tommy John surgery he underwent on Sept. 20, 2023. Will return to hitting early in the season with a potential return to the field around the midpoint of the season.
