With the playoff push tightening, the biggest story around the NBA remains star availability. Today's official injury report and the recent days of team and league updates brought more important news on Stephen Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Ja Morant, Kawhi Leonard, Franz Wagner and others. Some contenders are getting key pieces back, but several stars are still managing injuries that could shape the final stretch of the regular season.
NBA injury updates for today
Stephen Curry, Warriors: Curry remains out after Golden State announced March 11 that he was still making progress from patella-femoral pain syndrome and bone bruising in his right knee, but would be sidelined at least 10 more days before another re-evaluation.
Anthony Edwards, Timberwolves: Edwards will be re-evaluated in 1 to 2 weeks due to right knee inflammation.
Cade Cunningham, Pistons: Cunningham has been diagnosed with a collapsed lung and is expected to miss at least the next two weeks, according to the team.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks: Suffered a left knee hyperextension and bone bruise on March 15. According to ESPN, the Bucks want Giannis shut down for the rest of the season, but he wants to return and continue playing.
Joel Embiid, 76ers: Embiid remains out with a strained right oblique. Philadelphia said earlier this month he would miss at least three games, and he was still listed out on the most recent 76ers injury reporting.
Pascal Siakam, Pacers: Missed a sixth straight game due to a right knee sprain, currently without a timetable to return and likely to miss multiple weeks.
Tyrese Maxey, 76ers: Maxey’s right finger tendon strain is one of the biggest recent blows in the East. He is expected to miss about three weeks.
Ja Morant, Grizzlies: Morant is out with a left elbow UCL sprain, continuing a frustrating season of interruptions for Memphis’ star guard, he will be reevaluated in 1-2 weeks.
Kawhi Leonard, Clippers: Missed recent games and day-to-day with an ankle injury sustained on Saturday, he is travelling with the team for the three-game road trip that started Wednesday.
Anthony Davis, Wizards: Davis is listed out with a left finger sprain and could return in the coming weeks, however with the Wizards out of contention there will be no rush in his return.
Franz Wagner, Magic: Wagner is out with left high ankle sprain, another important absence for Orlando as it tries to stay on track in the East. He is currently without a timeline for return.
Alperen Sengun, Rockets: Sengun returned Wednesday after missing two games with low back pain, he played 37 minutes and led the scoring showing no signs of lingering soreness.
Nikola Vucevic, Celtics: Vucevic remains out with a right ring finger fracture, he will be re-evaluated in 3-4 weeks meaning his return would not be until at least early-April, leaving Boston thinner in the frontcourt even with Tatum back.
