Saturday, May 16th

Clay Holmes - New York Mets

Holmes suffered a fractured right fibula after being hit by a 111.1 mph comebacker in the fourth inning. Holmes has been one of the bright spots in the rotation this season but is now expected to miss time with the leg injury.

Jose Berrios - Toronto Blue Jays

Berríos will undergo surgery Wednesday on his pitching elbow to address a stress fracture and potential loose bodies. Blue Jays manager John Schneider said there may also be ligament damage, which will be evaluated during surgery. Berríos is expected to miss at least a couple of months, with a longer timeline possible depending on the severity.

Friday, May 15th

Mar Fried - New York Yankees

Fried will be placed on the injured list with a left elbow bone bruise, the Yankees announced Friday. Fried underwent an MRI and CT scan and was examined by team physician Dr. Chris Ahmad. He will be re-evaluated in a few weeks, or once asymptomatic, to determine when he can resume throwing.

Blake Snell - Los Angeles Dodgers

Snell is sidelined indefinitely after the Dodgers discovered loose bodies in his left elbow. Snell was a late scratch from his scheduled start Friday and is likely to miss significant time. The Dodgers are still determining whether surgery will be necessary.

Thursday, May 14th

Cal Raleigh - Seattle Mariners

Raleigh has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a right oblique strain. Raleigh originally suffered the injury in early May and missed three games before returning. He went 0-for-38 after coming back before aggravating the injury on Wednesday.

Juan Soto - New York Mets

X-rays on Soto’s right foot came back negative after he exited Wednesday’s win over the Tigers. Soto fouled a ball off the top of his foot but will not miss a game, as he is in the Mets’ lineup Thursday as the designated hitter.

Jacob Misiorowski - Milwaukee Brewers

Misiorowski is not concerned after cramping forced him to leave two of his last three starts. Misiorowski exited Wednesday’s start against the Padres with a right quad cramp after previously leaving a May 1 start with a right hamstring cramp. He said he is “ready to go” moving forward.

Wednesday, May 13th

Juan Soto - New York Mets

Soto exited Wednesday night’s game against the Tigers after fouling a ball off his right foot in the third inning. Soto initially stayed in the game despite visibly limping and recorded two more plate appearances before being replaced by pinch-hitter MJ Melendez in the seventh inning.

Max Fried - New York Yankees

Fried exited Wednesday’s 7-0 loss to the Orioles after three innings because of left elbow soreness. Fried said the discomfort and tightness worsened between innings, and the three-time All-Star is scheduled to undergo imaging and be evaluated Thursday.

Francisco Alvarez - New York Mets

Alvarez was placed on the injured list Wednesday and will undergo surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said the team is hopeful Alvarez can return within six to eight weeks.

Brandon Nimmo - Texas Rangers

Nimmo exited Tuesday night’s game against the Diamondbacks in the sixth inning with a sprained left ankle after his foot clipped first baseman Ildemaro Vargas while running out an infield single. Nimmo was in the lineup on on Wednesday and hit 2nd.

Anthony Volpe - New York Yankees

Volpe was recalled from AAA on Tuesday and started on Wednesday after the Yankees placed José Caballero on the IL with a fractured finger. Volpe missed most of Spring Training while recovering from left shoulder surgery performed in October

Tuesday, May 12th

Christian Yelich - Milwaukee Brewers

Yelich was activated from the injured list and returned to the Brewers’ lineup Tuesday, going 0-for-4. He had been sidelined since April 13 with a left groin strain missing 23 games.

Sean Murphy - Atlanta Braves

Murphy was placed on the injured list with a fractured left middle finger after being hit on the glove during Sunday’s game against the Dodgers. He has played just four games this season.

Joey Bart - Pittsburgh Pirates

Bart was placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with a left foot infection. He is hitting .259 with two home runs and nine RBI while splitting catching duties with Henry Davis.

Bryce Miller - Seattle Mariners

Miller is set to make his Mariners season debut Wednesday against the Astros after opening the year on the injured list with an oblique strain.

Monday, May 11th

Nathan Eovaldi - Texas Rangers

Eovaldi was scratched from his scheduled start Monday against the Diamondbacks due to left side tightness. The team was awaiting the results to find out the severity of the issue and determine the next steps.

Addison Barger - Toronto Blue Jays

Barger was placed back on the injured list with right elbow inflammation just two days after being activated. The move comes after Barger made a 101.2 mph throw from right field Sunday, the fastest outfield assist by a Blue Jays player since Statcast began tracking in 2015.

Kyle Teel - Chicago White Sox

Teel will begin an injury rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Charlotte. Teel has been out since suffering a Grade 2 right hamstring strain while playing for Team Italy in the World Baseball Classic on March 10.

Kerry Carpenter - Detroit Tigers

Carpenter has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a left shoulder sprain. Carpenter suffered the injury after crashing into the right-field wall at Kauffman Stadium on Saturday. Manager A.J. Hinch said initial tests showed no structural damage, but Carpenter has inflammation and remains sore.

Logan O'Hoppe - Los Angeles Angels

O’Hoppe is nearing a return from a small left wrist fracture and began a rehab assignment Monday. O’Hoppe has been out since April 25 but recently hit, caught off a machine, and ran the bases without issues. He could return Friday when the Angels open a homestand against the Dodgers.

Rhett Lowder - Cincinnati Reds

Lowder has been placed on the 15-day injured list as the Reds give him time to rest his shoulder. An MRI showed no structural damage, but Cincinnati decided to shut him down for a couple of weeks instead of having him throw a bullpen session on Sunday.

Sunday, May 10th

Logan Webb - San Francisco Giants

Webb has been placed on the 15-day injured list with right knee bursitis. The Giants made the move retroactive to Wednesday after Webb dealt with knee discomfort in his last start, a loss to the Padres on Tuesday.

Mookie Betts - Los Angeles Dodgers

Betts is set to return Monday when the Dodgers open a four-game series against the Giants. Betts has missed more than a month with a right oblique strain after suffering the injury April 4 against the Nationals.

Willson Contreras - Boston Red Sox

Initial tests on Willson Contreras came back negative after he exited Sunday’s game against the Rays with a bruised right hand. Contreras suffered the injury when a fastball hit him.

Taj Bradley - Minnesota Twins

Bradley has been placed on the 15-day injured list with right pectoral inflammation, retroactive to Wednesday. An MRI showed no significant damage. The right-hander has been a key piece of the Twins’ rotation, posting a 4-1 record with a 2.87 ERA through eight starts.

Andrew Benintendi - Chicago White Sox

Benintendi is out of the lineup for the second straight game because of neck stiffness. Benintendi was scratched Saturday and remains on the bench Sunday against the Mariners.

Blake Snell - Los Angeles Dodgers

Snell made his season debut for the Dodgers on Saturday against the Braves, allowing four earned runs and six hits over three innings in a 7-2 loss. Snell rejoined the rotation instead of making one final minor league rehab start after Tyler Glasnow was placed on the injured list with back spasms.
