Friday, August 21st

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Blue Jays - Concussion

Guerrero began a rehab assignment Thursday with Single-A Dunedin after being placed on the seven-day concussion injured list following a collision at third base against the Yankees. After participating in baseball activities Tuesday and Wednesday, the Blue Jays hope to have him back in the lineup on Saturday.

Ketel Marte, Diamondbacks - Left Knee

Marte will be transferred from the restricted list to the 10-day injured list due to his left knee injury. General manager Mike Hazen said Marte will return once he is healthy.

Jacob Wilson, Athletics - Left Shoulder

Wilson is likely to miss the remainder of the 2026 season due to a left shoulder injury and will be placed on the injured list. He is being examined by a doctor to determine the next steps.

Cody Bellinger, Yankees - Left Hamstring

Bellinger began a rehab assignment Thursday as he works his way back from a Grade 2 left hamstring strain. He is expected to play at least one more rehab game and could potentially be activated this weekend against the Blue Jays.

CJ Abrams, Nationals - Left Ankle

Abrams suffered a sprained left ankle after going into second base awkwardly on a ninth-inning double Wednesday against the Rangers. Manager Blake Butera said Abrams is considered day-to-day.

Maikel Garcia, Royals - Left Hamstring

Garcia suffered a left hamstring strain in the first inning of Thursday’s game against the Athletics and is likely headed back to the injured list, just three days after returning from a nearly two-month absence.

Wednesday, August 19th

Edwin Diaz, Dodgers - Neck

Diaz was placed on the injured list Tuesday with inflammation in the right side of his neck. He returned to Los Angeles and will undergo imaging to evaluate the issue further. Manager Dave Roberts said the discomfort became apparent Monday night.

Jorge Polanco, Mets - Left Ankle

Polanco will undergo season-ending surgery on his left ankle, interim manager Andy Green announced Wednesday.

Tyler Soderstrom, Athletics - Hip

Soderstrom will undergo season-ending hip surgery on Friday.

Kevin Gausman, Cubs - Hand Cramping

Gausman exited Tuesday’s game against the White Sox in the fifth inning due to cramping in his non-pitching hand. The issue began in the fourth inning and made it difficult for him to fully extend his thumb or put it into his glove. He received electrolytes but was unable to continue.

Tuesday, August 18th

Trevor Story, Red Sox - Sports Hernia

Story could return from sports hernia surgery as soon as this weekend. He expects to play seven to nine innings in rehab games Tuesday and Wednesday with Worcester before evaluating how he feels. Story said a return for this weekend’s series against the Giants is “a possibility.”

Austin Martin, Twins - Left Hamstring

Martin was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday after suffering a Grade 1 left hamstring strain while attempting to run down a fly ball Sunday against Philadelphia. An MRI confirmed the strain, with manager Derek Shelton saying the injury is “not anything very serious.”

Ketel Marte, Diamondbacks - Left Knee

Marte traveled back to Phoenix to undergo testing on his left knee. Manager Torey Lovullo said he hopes Marte will play again this season but did not provide a timetable for his return. Marte was placed on the restricted list Monday.

Cody Bellinger, Yankees - Left Hamstring

Bellinger could begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Scranton on Thursday as he works his way back from a left hamstring strain that has sidelined him since July 26. He said he feels “about as 100 percent as I can” in a non-game setting and expects to play in multiple rehab games.

Jacob deGrom, Rangers - Right Triceps

deGrom checked out OK after a bullpen session as he works his way back from right triceps fatigue. He will not start Wednesday against the Nationals but could return to the mound for Thursday’s series finale.

Monday, August 17th

Max Fried, Yankees - Left Elbow

Fried was placed on the 15-day injured list Monday with a left elbow bone bruise. The IL stint is retroactive to Friday, one day after he allowed five hits over five innings against Seattle.

Dansby Swanson, Cubs - Left Oblique

Swanson will miss at least four weeks with a Grade 2 left oblique strain suffered during an awkward swing Sunday against the Cardinals. The timeline is expected to sideline him for most of the remaining regular season, though the Cubs are confident he will return for the postseason.

Nolan Arenado, D'Backs - Abdomen

Arenado is out of Monday's lineup against the Red Sox as he continues to deal with an abdominal injury. He is undergoing an MRI, with a potential injured list stint depending on the results.

Juan Soto, Mets - Calf

Soto continues to work toward a return after being sidelined since July 24. He ran several wind sprints in the outfield on Aug. 14 without any issues and has said he intends to return before the end of the season. Soto is currently expected to return sometime in September.

Justin Wrobleski, Dodgers - Forearm

Wrobleski has been placed on the injured list with forearm inflammation. The Dodgers called up reliever Kyle Hurt to take his place on the roster. Wrobleski posted a 2.69 ERA over 100⅓ innings in the first half but has recorded a 6.92 ERA since, allowing 11 home runs in 26 innings.

Dansby Swanson, Cubs - Left Side/Oblique

Swanson will be placed on the injured list after exiting Sunday's game against the Cardinals with left side discomfort following an awkward swing. The injury is suspected to be an oblique issue, which could potentially sideline him for the remainder of the regular season. Swanson is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.

Paul Skenes, Pirates - Extra Rest

Skenes will have his next scheduled start pushed back three days, moving from Sunday against the Red Sox to Wednesday against the Tigers. Manager Don Kelly emphasized that the decision is not injury-related and is intended to give Skenes additional rest. Skenes indicated that he supports the decision.

Masataka Yoshida, Red Sox - Left Hamstring
