As the 2025 MLB season heats up, injuries continue to impact key rosters across the league. Here’s the latest comprehensive roundup of injuries across the league.
Corey Seager (SS): Will miss the May 11 game due to a reaggravation of a right hamstring injury on a swing in the May 10 win, he will be evaluated Monday and likely to miss several games to allow a full recovery.
Jose Altuve (2B): Exited the May 10 game against the Reds with right hamstring tightness.
Yordan Alvarez (DH/OF): Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez has been placed on the 10-day injured list with right hand inflammation. The move is retroactive to Saturday after Alvarez missed the final two games of the weekend series vs. the White Sox. The All-Star is hitting .210 with 3 HR and 18 RBIs this season. On May 7, an MRI revealed a muscle strain that will require rest.
Hayden Wesneski (P): Placed on the 15-day IL on May 9 with right elbow discomfort.
Oneil Cruz (OF): Exited the May 10 game against the Braves with lower back tightness, currently is day-to-day.
Hunter Greene (RHP): Left his May 7 start with a right groin injury during warm-ups in the fourth inning. An MRI revealed a Grade 1 strain, and he will be added to the IL.
Tyler Callihan (2B): underwent surgery on May 6 and will be out for at least 6-8 weeks.
Noelvi Marte (INF): Placed on the 10-day IL on May 7 (retro to May 5) with a left oblique strain.
Teoscar Hernández placed on the 10-day IL with Grade 1 adductor strain.
Michael Kopech (RHP) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on May 8 as he recovers from a right shoulder impingement and before that forearm inflammation.
Clayton Kershaw (LHP): Rehabbed 5 IP on April 30; followed up with 6 IP on May 6 in AZ Complex League, likely to have one more rehab start on May 11 then return to the Dodgers.
Shohei Ohtani (DH): Still months away from pitching post-elbow surgery.
