As the 2025 MLB season heats up, injuries continue to impact key rosters across the league. Here’s the latest comprehensive roundup of injuries across the league.

Texas Rangers

  • Corey Seager (SS): Will miss the May 11 game due to a reaggravation of a right hamstring injury on a swing in the May 10 win, he will be evaluated Monday and likely to miss several games to allow a full recovery.

Houston Astros

  • Jose Altuve (2B): Exited the May 10 game against the Reds with right hamstring tightness.

  • Yordan Alvarez (DH/OF): Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez has been placed on the 10-day injured list with right hand inflammation. The move is retroactive to Saturday after Alvarez missed the final two games of the weekend series vs. the White Sox. The All-Star is hitting .210 with 3 HR and 18 RBIs this season. On May 7, an MRI revealed a muscle strain that will require rest.

  • Hayden Wesneski (P): Placed on the 15-day IL on May 9 with right elbow discomfort.

Pittsburgh Pirates

  • Oneil Cruz (OF): Exited the May 10 game against the Braves with lower back tightness, currently is day-to-day.

Cincinnati Reds

  • Hunter Greene (RHP): Left his May 7 start with a right groin injury during warm-ups in the fourth inning. An MRI revealed a Grade 1 strain, and he will be added to the IL.

  • Tyler Callihan (2B): underwent surgery on May 6 and will be out for at least 6-8 weeks.

  • Noelvi Marte (INF): Placed on the 10-day IL on May 7 (retro to May 5) with a left oblique strain.

Los Angeles Dodgers

  • Teoscar Hernández placed on the 10-day IL with Grade 1 adductor strain.

  • Michael Kopech (RHP) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on May 8 as he recovers from a right shoulder impingement and before that forearm inflammation.

  • Clayton Kershaw (LHP): Rehabbed 5 IP on April 30; followed up with 6 IP on May 6 in AZ Complex League, likely to have one more rehab start on May 11 then return to the Dodgers.

  • Shohei Ohtani (DH): Still months away from pitching post-elbow surgery.

  • Tommy Edman (INF): On 10-day IL (ankle inflammation); Dave Roberts said it's "unlikely" Tommy Edman will come off the IL when he's eligible this weekend. "It's just not responding" as quickly as hoped.

  • Evan Phillips (RHP): Placed on the 15-day IL on May 7 with right forearm discomfort.

Chicago Cubs

  • Shota Imanaga (LHP): Exited May 4 start with a left hamstring strain. On Monday, the Cubs placed Imanaga on the 15-day IL.

Arizona Diamondbacks

  • Corbin Burnes (RHP): May miss next start due to right shoulder inflammation, but no IL stint yet.

  • Merrill Kelly (RHP): Left May 2 game with right hamstring cramps.

  • Justin Martinez (RHP): On 15-day IL with right shoulder inflammation. Imaging revealed no structural damage.

Colorado Rockies

  • Kris Bryant (1B/OF): Will undergo an ablation procedure to manage pain from lumbar degenerative disk disease and hopes to resume his rehab afterward.

Philadelphia Phillies

  • J.T. Realmuto (C): Left the May 7 game after fouling a ball off his left foot. No X-rays needed, and the team says he is OK. Played on May 8.

New York Yankees

  • Anthony Volpe (SS): Felt a “pop” in his left shoulder on May 3. MRI results were positive.

  • Clarke Schmidt (RHP): Scratched May 3 with left flank soreness; started on May 6.

  • Jazz Chisholm Jr. (INF/OF): Out 4–6 weeks with multiple high-grade oblique tears.

  • Luis Gil (RHP): Progressing from right lat strain, resumed throwing on April 27.

  • Yu Darvish (RHP): Progressing from right elbow inflammation, has thrown multiple bullpens and is threw a 48-pitch simulated game on May 8.

  • Jackson Merrill (OF): Activated from IL on May 6 and returned against the Yankees.

Baltimore Orioles

  • Zach Eflin (RHP): After a May 4 rehab outing (High-A), he will throw a bullpen May 7 and is expected to start this Sunday May 11 vs. the Angels.

  • Tyler O'Neill (OF): Began rehab assignment May 6 (Triple-A Norfolk). Will play multiple games before returning from neck inflammation.

  • Jordan Westburg (INF): Participated in workouts May 6 and is set to begin a rehab assignment later this week (left hamstring strain).

  • Andrew Kittredge (RHP): Made a rehab appearance May 4 (High-A), next outing scheduled May 8 for Triple-A Norfolk.

  • Ramón Urías (INF): On 10-day IL since May 3 (right hamstring strain); could resume baseball activities this week.

New York Mets

  • Ronny Mauricio (INF): Rehab stint continued May 6 with Single-A St. Lucie, moving to Double-A Binghamton on May 9 as he returns from a torn ACL.

  • Mike Trout (OF): On 10-day IL with left knee bone bruise; optimistic for short stay.

  • Yoán Moncada (INF): Began rehab May 3 (thumb soreness).

Miami Marlins

  • Jesús Sánchez (OF): Missed May 3–4 due to back tightness.

  • Otto Lopez (INF): On IL with Grade 2 right ankle sprain (retro to May 3).
