Brewers Injury Report: Updates on Aaron Ashby, Brandon Woodruff And Freddy Peralta

The scuffling Brewers potentially lost another starting pitcher on Thursday after Aaron Ashby left his start with left forearm tightness.

Aaron Ashby Injury Update

Milwaukee decided to remove the rookie southpaw in the fifth inning as a precaution, according to reports.

He allowed a two-run home run to tie the game before leaving the contest.

Ashby has allowed 14 runs and 23 hits with 14 strikeouts over his last three starts, ballooning his ERA from 2.70 to 4.25.

Freddy Peralta Injury Update

Ashby was called up, in part, to replace 2021 all-star Freddy Peralta.

Peralta has been out since May 22 with a shoulder strain and has resumed throwing this week, according to Craig Counsell.

Peralta was placed on the 60-day IL and has yet to hit the halfway mark of his stay, so he has a ways to go but this is the first progress he's made since the injury.

Brandon Woodruff Injury Update

Woodruff appears to be the closest to returning to the mound of the bunch.

The domineering righty is expected to make another High-A rehab start next week before returning to the Brewers.

Woodruff left a start on May 27 with a right ankle sprain and was later diagnosed with Raynaud's Syndrome, which should be manageable with a few adjustments, including avoiding cold-weather starts and using an arm sleeve and hand warmers.

Aaron Ashby left with forearm tightness, Brewers say, as precaution. Before coming out and walking off with trainer, looked like he was making a case to stay. In final inning (fifth), velocity remained normal, but had some location misses.
