Braves Injury Report: Ronald Acuña Jr. Scratched With Right Quad Tightness

Braves star outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. will hit the bench Wednesday with right quad tightness.

Ronald Acuña Injury Update

Acuña reportedly woke up with right quad tightness and tested it out when he got to Truist Park for today's game.

He still felt it after testing out his right leg, thus why the Braves scratched him from the lineup.

With the 24-year-old still working his way back from a torn right knee ACL last July, the Braves are likely being understandably cautious with the star right fielder.

The field has already seen some rain pregame, which likely also factored into the decision to sit him.

He missed five games with groin tightness in mid-May and has played in just 17 games since returning April 28.

Acuña is slashing .292/.400/.446 in those 17 games, with 2 home runs and 8 RBIs. His 8 stolen bases leads the Braves and has him tied for eighth in the majors.

Travis Demeritte will man right field against the Phillies, with Orlando Arcia serving as the designated hitter.

Braves World Series Odds

At 20-23, Atlanta is +320 to win the NL East and +1700 to win the World Series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
