Kenley Jansen, the Atlanta Braves closer, pitched a scoreless inning in his return off the 15-day IL.
The 34-year-old was placed on IL in late June after experiencing an irregular heartbeat.
Although heart issues are typically scary, atrial fibrillation is on the less concerning side, according to our team of Pro Baseball Docs.
In late June, our doctors gave Jansen a SIC score of 93 for the remainder of the season and don't expect the heart issue to affect his longevity.
The former Dodgers closer has managed the issue since 2011, but hadn't missed time because of his heart since 2012.
This season, Jansen has completed 20 of 24 save opportunities. He has a 3.48 ERA across 33.2 innings with 47 strikeouts.
