Major League Baseball’s most exciting young team is off to a rough start on the injury front, with the start of the regular season a little more than a month away.

Baltimore Orioles general manager shared a slew of health updates this week, with key names like Kyle Bradish and John Means among those to monitor heading into spring training.

Below is a compilation of the latest information combined with medical analysis from our panel of doctors with decades of collective MLB experience.

John Means - SIC score 31

Will start season on IL with a best case scenario return in April - recovery from April 2022 Tommy John Surgery hit a bump in the road with flare up last October - resting through the start of the offseason program put him behind the other starting pitchers on the staff.

Kyle Bradish - SIC score 24

Will hit IL to start the season with a sprained UCL in his throwing elbow - he underwent a PRP injection and will attempt to pitch through the ailment but surgery is a distinct possibility - location of the sprain is key to whether he can avoid surgery.

Gunnar Henderson - SIC score 47

Suffered left oblique soreness while long tossing - possible the team is playing is safe with the reigning AL Rookie of the Year but oblique issues notoriously linger - Henderson has said he plans to play opening day but his power numbers may take a dip early in the season.

Felix Bautista - Out for Season

Recently underwent second surgery to move nerve involve in Tommy John surgery - this is a common surgery and not a setback, however he will not pitch during the 2024 season while recovering from the October 2023 surgery.
