Texas Rangers star Adolis García exited Texas' 3-1 win over Arizona in Game 3 of the World Series on Monday night with left side tightness after taking an awkward swing on a flyout in the eighth inning. Garcia immediately grimaced and grabbed his lower back after making contact and was replaced in right field by Travis Jankowski.
Our doctors believe he suffered an oblique injury. If this were the regular season Garcia would likely be placed on the IL. Since it is the World Series, he will stay with the team.
It will be difficult for Garcia to swing with the strain and his power is essentially gone. Garcia leads the Rangers in home runs and RBI’s in the postseason. He also led them in those categories during the regular season.
