Phillies Injury Report: Bryce Harper Sitting Again Wednesday After Elbow PRP Injection

Phillies former MVP Bryce Harper is out of the lineup against on Wednesday, three days after he underwent a platelet-rich plasma injection in his injured right elbow.

Bryce Harper Injury Update

The left-handed slugger is reportedly still dealing with soreness and has not played since Saturday. On Sunday, he underwent the PRP injection to promote healing for his partially torn UCL in his right elbow.

As the Pro Baseball Docs detailed last week, Harper will continue to serve as designated hitter while the Phillies wait to see the results of the injection in his elbow.

He likely suffered the partial UCL tear on this throw on April 11.

While Philadelphia certainly needs his defensive talent in the outfield, his fantasy value should not take much of a hit beyond this initial absence.

Harper is hitting .304 with 9 home runs and 27 RBIs in 34 games this season.

The Phillies don't expect him to throw for another four weeks, but his hitting has been unaffected by the injury.

Roman Quinn will get the start in center field against the Padres' Blake Snell today, with Nick Castellanos in right and Odubel Herrera in left field.

 Phillies World Series Odds

At 17-19, the Phillies are +650 to win the NL East and +2800 to win the World Series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

This was a great effort but Bryce Harper, but the Mets still go up 4-0. x.com/BrodesMedia/st…
