Von Miller Injury: Here's The Best Case Scenario for Bills Star LB

Buffalo Bills star linebacker Von Miller reportedly avoided an ACL tear in his right knee after leaving on Thanksgiving against the Lions.

He did reportedly suffer an injury to his lateral meniscus and at this point the best case scenario would be a return in four-to-six weeks after a knee scope.

Early reports are that Miller will wait seven to 10 days before deciding whether to get surgery on his knee. However, if the damage is just to his lateral meniscus a knee scope surgery should be possible right now.

If there is other damage, such as the MCL, he would require a longer absence but would still likely need the knee scope to allow for a more reliable return to play.

It’s possible Miller’s right knee ACL tear in 2013 left him with some laxity in his knee that saved him from an ACL tear. 

Based on one angle of slow-motion video, the Pro Football Docs detailed why there was serious concern for an ACL tear when his knee shifted.

The residual laxity could explain that shift and why the lateral meniscus took the brunt of the damage.

A knee scope could have Miller back in time for the end of the regular season and playoffs, a potential big boost to the Bills’ Super Bowl hopes.
