T.J. Watt INJURY INSIGHTS

PLAYER INSIGHTS

Jan 2, 2026

Watt logged a trio of limited practices last week but missed his third consecutive game in Week 17, ...

Dec 26, 2025

Has been ruled out of Week 17 vs the Browns, Watt managed to log a week of limited practices for the first time since his lung partially collapsed, but ultimately will not be able to play in Sunday's game

Dec 19, 2025

Has been ruled out of Week 16, Watt continues to be sidelined due to a partially collapsed lung that he underwent surgery for during Week 15 prep, which will result in the superstar pass rusher being sidelined for Sunday's contest

Dec 12, 2025

Watt underwent surgery Thursday to repair a partially collapsed lung and has been ruled out of Monday Night Football against the Dolphins, he is resting comfortably at home and the issue isn't considered a long-term one

Dec 5, 2025

Watt did not practice Wednesday, but jumped to a full participant Thursday and was cleared of injury designation from his toe injury

Jul 31, 2025

Similar to Aaron Rodgers we don’t foresee any issues heading into training camp but age will start to be a concern for Watt who sustained a lower ankle injury on December 15 with negative x-rays missed no time and finished the season with 11.5 sacks

Dec 20, 2024

Watt sustained a left inversion ankle sprain, his outside leg when he pass rushes from the left defensive side by video it is a mild ankle sprain, but we've looked at practice video and he clearly is hampered on the left side, there's no way he can be effective and get around the edge on the defensive left side, look for him to flip to the right side against the offensive left tackle, where you can have a healthy right ankle to get around the edge and flip with Alex Highsmith, this is a huge game, the Steelers will win the division if they can beat the Ravens, and they'll lose out on first place if they lose, so TJ Watt is trying to give it a go, but will not be 100%

Dec 19, 2024

Was a full participant in practice on Thursday from the ankle injury he suffered last week and carries no injury designation ahead of W16 so he will be able to play this Saturday

Dec 19, 2024

Was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday which is a welcome trend in the right direction towards his availability for W16 from an ankle injury, if he is able to go he will be an important of the gameplan vs division rival Baltimore

Dec 16, 2024

May have avoided a foot fracture based on what head coach Mike Tomlin said stating it's a "low" ankle injury, it's possible he experienced an inversion ankle sprain, it's possible he plays vs the Ravens if he flips sides on the defense, easing the pressure on his left foot
