Braxton Jones, fully healthy after overcoming ankle and knee injuries that limited him to six games in 2025, enters the 2026 season. He dealt with lingering effects from a fractured right ankle in late 2024 and a separate knee injury in Week 7, which landed him on injured reserve for the rest of the season. Jones returned to practice during the playoffs and completed his recovery during the offseason. He participated fully in OTAs and mandatory minicamp, taking most first-team reps at left tackle without limitations. Jones is the favorite to reclaim Chicago’s starting left tackle position.

Jones practiced in full ahead of Saturday's 31-27 wild-card win over the Packers, but he wasn't activated in time to suit up for that contest, with a season-ending injury to Ozzy Trapilo, Jones may step in to the starting role with two weeks of practice under his belt since he sustained his knee injury

Returned to practice for the first time where he was a full participant all week since being placed on injured reserve on October 25 due to a knee injury, he was replaced by Theo Benedect in Week 4 and hasn't played since, currently listed as questionable for Saturday
