University of Southern California running back Travis Dye suffered a severe left leg injury in Friday's 55-17 win over the Colorado.
By video, Dye appeared to suffer an ankle fracture-dislocation when his leg was trapped underneath him on a rush in the second quarter.
The ankle fracture-dislocation is the most severe form of high-ankle sprain and is the same injury fellow Trojan Drake London suffered on Oct. 30, 2021.
Although Dye appeared to grab his knee at first, he returned to the sideline in a plaster sugar tong splint.
This type of splint is used because a hard cast would not allow for natural swelling to occur post-injury. He was placed in an air cast to stabilize his leg before he was carted off.
