Sunday Night Football in Week 13 brings a marquee matchup as the Buffalo Bills host the struggling San Francisco 49ers.
The Bills (9-2) are fresh off their bye week and riding high after a statement win over Kansas City, solidifying their status as Super Bowl contenders.
Meanwhile, the 49ers (5-6) are reeling from a blowout loss to Green Bay and face uncertainty with quarterback Brock Purdy, who missed last week due to a shoulder injury.
With San Francisco battling to stay in playoff contention and Buffalo eyeing the AFC's top seed, this primetime clash promises high stakes and plenty of drama under the lights in Buffalo.
In this article, we’ll break down the most impactful injuries and how they will affect the game.
The big question mark is QB Brock Purdy and we lean towards him returning. Starters on the Offensive Line including LT Trent Williams (DNP Fri and will miss his second straight game) and Aaron Banks are out which spells trouble even if Purdy is able to suit up.
The 49ers defense has been ravaged by injury all year with each level of the defense dealing with a star player that is sidelined including DE Nick Bosa who is dealing with a hip/oblique issue and will miss his second straight game. Players confirmed out are:
DE Nick Bosa (hip, oblique)
OT Trent Williams (ankle)
LB Dre Greenlaw (Achilles)
CB Deommodore Lenoir (knee)
LG Aaron Banks (concussion)
DT Jordan Elliott (concussion)
Players listed as Questionable include:
QB Brock Purdy (shoulder)
WR Chris Conley (knee)
DT Kevin Givens (groin)
LB Demetrius Flanagan-Fowles (knee)
CB Renardo Green (neck)
Receiving options for Josh Allen have been hampered for weeks and with Amari Cooper now back from his wrist injury the wait is for TE Dalton Kincaid who will miss again this week and Keon Coleman (LP Friday) who also had a wrist injury will be questionable.
On the defense LB Matt Milano is a good chance to make his season debut this week (full practice Friday) as he returns from torn biceps and fractured fibula from last year - outside of Milano the defense has gradually improved health in recent weeks.
