As we look towards Week 10 of the NFL season, several teams are struggling with key injuries that may impact upcoming games. At SICscore.com, we provide expert insights from Dr. David Chao, MD (@ProFootballDoc) and other top sports doctors to help fans and analysts understand the impact of these injuries on the player and team.
Officially placed on IR. Most hamstring injuries involve the muscle, this involves the tendon, the tendon at the knee, it is more of an avulsion injury.
Do not be surprised if he ends up with surgery, the good news with surgery is it would be to reset the area of the tendon to allow for better healing, tendons don't have the same blood flow as muscle, it's not surgery to reattach it.
Surgery would not end his season with six weeks recovery at Week 10 that doesn't leave much room for a return if the Cowboys can stay alive in the playoff hunt. Prescott can come back this season, but it will be more than four games missed
Lawrence is unlikely to play in Week 10 against the Vikings with an injury to his non-throwing shoulder, despite the injury being to his non-throwing shoulder Lawrence might be weighing options for the future as he continues to get treatment on the shoulder, Mac Jones will get the start if Lawrence is unable to go. He is officially listed as questionable.
Is set to make his return to the starting lineup after spraining his AC joint in his throwing shoulder in Week 6. He logged a full practice on Thursday ahead of Sunday's game against the Chargers.
It's November and we always said his return from bilateral Achilles tendonitis wouldn't be until November, it is time.
His practice window is open and barring a setback he will play week 10 for the 49ers.
Workload is a different question. Jordan Mason should be healthy from his AC joint injury, he might be the primary running back and CMC is used on third downs, we doubt that he's going to take 60 snaps in his first week back but it's still great to see him back finally for all the fantasy owners.
Much awaited return from ACL, the top draft pick running back from Texas is ready to return but he likely won’t be 100%, in our preseason injury preview we faded him as mostly a lost year.
They're certainly going to play him, it’s time to play him, but he's not going to be the primary back. ACL recovery is a very slow sunrise, not a light switch, it’s good to see him make his debut, likely this week but from a fantasy perspective, we don't know that he will be the bell cow in terms of production.
Came out of the Week 9 bye week as a limited practice participant while recovering from oblique/rib injuries, the lean is he likely won't play this week vs the Buccaneers but he could still be a game-time decision.
He carries no injury designation for Week 10 against the Eagles, he did sprain his AC joint but continued to play with it, we expected him to be available for this game
Is designated to return to action in W10 from the hamstring injury he was managing, as expected, the injury was deemed mild when it was sustained and we believe he will be a full go for this week from a productivity perspective
Was a full participant in Friday's practice, clearing the way for his availability for Sunday against the Cowboys, he was managing a knee injury but he appeared to have been moving well in practice and we expected him to be available this week
Will be available this Sunday agains the Cowboys in his first action since W6 with a hamstring injury, he was a full participant in practice on Thursday, signaling his ability to return to action
Has been ruled out with a back injury for Sunday's game against the Bills, he didn't practice this week and thus will miss his first game of the season, he's viewed as week-to-week but not under consideration for IR at this time
