CeeDee Lamb: High Ankle Variant, Multiple Weeks Likely

Lamb is dealing with a high ankle variant sprain (more medial deltoid involvement than syndesmotic). The good news: no surgery is needed.

He taped it and tried to play but couldn’t finish. Lamb is out vs. the Packers this week and likely out next week as well. The Cowboys are hopeful he can avoid injured reserve, leaving a potential return the following week — but that’s not guaranteed.

Mike Evans & Buccaneers WR/OL Depth

  • Mike Evans (Hamstring): Re-aggravated his long-standing hamstring issue. After a solid game, it would be a surprise if he suited up next week.

  • Chris Godwin (Ankle): Nearing a return, though still not 100%. A potential swap for Evans.

  • Offensive Line Concerns: The Bucs are down 60% of their starting line (both tackles + one interior lineman). Tristan Wirfs may return, but protection is a major worry.

James Conner: Season Over After Ankle Surgery

James Conner suffered a fracture-dislocation of the ankle with associated ligament damage and fracture. Surgery is required, and his season is officially over. Video showed his foot caught underneath with extra rotational force, leading to a high fibula fracture and severe ankle instability.

Jayden Daniels, Justin Fields, Brock Purdy: Week-to-Week Decisions

  • Justin Fields (Concussion/Health): Ruled out early last week, with a concussion. Tyrod Taylor filled in adequately, but not enough to justify sitting Fields again. If Fields gets a full week of practice, he is expected to return as the starter. Watch his Wednesday practice status closely.

  • Brock Purdy (Undisclosed/Teased Return): Despite Mac Jones managing the offense, it remains Purdy’s team. Purdy was close to playing this week and he doesn’t need to be a full participant on Wednesday; as long as he’s ready by the weekend, he’ll start.

  • Jayden Daniels (Knee): Marcus Mariota filled in well but wasn’t tested. Washington will be cautious with its franchise QB, but Daniels has a reasonable chance to return this week.

Nick Bosa Tears ACL

Initial video review of Nick Bosa's injury did not clearly confirm an ACL tear, but the MRI revealed the worst. Coach Kyle Shanahan, typically forthcoming, delivered the bad news. The situation echoes Browns tackle Dean Jones’ hyperextension, also likely ACL-related. The shift from optimism in sideline tests to the MRI confirmation highlights why teams typically say “MRI pending” externally, while internally they already have a strong idea.

This is devastating news for the 49ers as they face losing a key piece for the season.

Najee Harris Out for the Season

Chargers RB Najee Harris suffered a ruptured Achilles, an injury that is unfortunately season-ending. Video showed a classic non-contact mechanism, and confirmation has followed.
