Detroit Lions: Over 10.5 Wins (+110 DK), NFC North Division (+160 DK)
The Detroit Lions enter 2025 poised to build on their success from last season. A year ago, the Lions’ defense was one of the least healthy units in football, with players such as defensive ends Aidan Hutchinson and Marcus Davenport, along with defensive tackle DJ Reader (now departed), all missing multiple games. The offensive line also battled injuries, though the unit now returns healthy and remains a strength heading into the new season.
On offense, Detroit maintains continuity, returning the same core while adding a few new offensive linemen and working under a new offensive coordinator. With positive injury regression expected, especially on defense, the Lions have a strong chance of improving on last year’s performance. Twelve wins is well within reach, and another NFC North crown looks likely.
Carolina Panthers: Over 6.5 Wins (-125 FD), NFC South Division (+425 DK)
The Carolina Panthers were the NFL’s most injury-plagued team in 2024, finishing dead last in health according to SIC metrics. That reality significantly hampered their defensive unit, as stars such as defensive tackle Derrick Brown, linebacker Shaq Thompson (now departed), cornerbacks Dane Jackson (also gone) and Jaycee Horn all missed multiple games.
With expected positive regression in 2025, the Panthers should field a far healthier defense. Offensively, the focus is on the growth of quarterback Bryce Young, who now has new weapons and improved protection. If he takes a step forward, Carolina should comfortably clear their win total. At +425, the Panthers also have a realistic shot at competing for the NFC South crown in what remains one of the NFL’s most volatile divisions.
Dallas Cowboys: Under 7.5 Wins (+110 CZR)
For years, the Dallas Cowboys’ foundation has been built around an elite offensive line, but that strength now appears to be a liability. Longtime anchors Tyron Smith and Zack Martin are gone due to retirement, and both left tackle Tyler Guyton and left guard Tyler Smith will enter the season dealing with injuries.
On the defensive side, concerns are equally pressing. Star linebacker Micah Parsons remains locked in a contract standoff, while key starters such as linebacker DeMarvion Overshown and cornerback Trevon Diggs are recovering from injuries. With both sides of the ball compromised, it is difficult to envision Dallas clearing their win total. Compounding the issue, the Cowboys face the 22nd-ranked strength of schedule, leaving little room for error. This projects as a significant step-back season.
Baltimore Ravens: Under 11.5 Wins (+110 CZR)
The Baltimore Ravens thrived in 2024, largely due to being the league’s healthiest team, and rode that advantage to 12 wins. However, expecting the same level of injury luck in 2025 seems unrealistic. Regression is likely.
New addition Jaire Alexander brings talent to the secondary but also chronic knee concerns, while quarterback Lamar Jackson’s dynamic play style inherently leaves him more susceptible to injury risk. Although the Ravens remain among the AFC’s top rosters, the health edge they enjoyed last season will be difficult to replicate. Expect them to dip below 12 wins in 2025.
