Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels does not need surgery on his injured left elbow and will not be placed on injured reserve. Daniels will be re-evaluated after Washington’s Week 12 bye as he continues recovering from the injury to his non-throwing arm.

Pro Football Doc, Dr. David Chao, noted that the elbow injury looked “gruesome” on video, though he emphasized that since it was on his non-throwing arm, it did not appear season-ending. Further testing confirmed no ligament damage and no fracture, offering optimism that Daniels could return this season.

Daniels has already missed three games this season: two due to a sprained left knee and another after injuring his right hamstring. Washington has not established a firm timetable for his return, but is hopeful the additional rest through the bye week will accelerate his recovery.

The Commanders host their next game following the bye on Nov. 24.
