Bills Get Good News on Jordan Poyer's Elbow Injury

Jordan Poyer, the Bills All-Pro free safety, will only require a short absence to heal his left elbow injury, Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott confirmed Thursday.

The positive injury news confirms thoughts that the Pro Football Docs detailed on Tuesday.

While the injury appeared serious to fans upon first glance, our panel of doctors were certain the hyperextended elbow wouldn't keep Poyer out long enough to put his Week 1 status in doubt.

Jordan Poyer Injury Update

Poyer left Tuesday's practice after injuring his elbow on a run play.

No video of the injury was available, but a fan had video of him walking to the tunnel with trainers.

Despite the training camp setback, Poyer will have no lingering issues for the matchup to open the NFL season against the Rams on September 8.

Buffalo's top corner Tre'Davious White is more of a question mark.

White may be in the lineup Week 1, but the Pro Football Docs aren't optimistic about his effectiveness early in the season because of his continuing ACL recovery.

Poyer's safety partner Micah Hyde suffered a minor ankle injury last week, but was back at practice on Monday.

Bills Super Bowl Odds

The Bills are the current Super Bowl favorites at +650, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, followed by the Buccaneers at +750 and the Chiefs at +950.

Buffalo's win total over/under is 11.5 and they are 1.5-point favorites on the road against the Rams Week 1.
