The Chicago Bears rallied from a 21–3 deficit to stun the Green Bay Packers 31–27 on Saturday night in the NFL Wild Card round, but the comeback came at a significant cost.

Chicago lost two key starters for the remainder of the season: left tackle Ozzy Trapilo and linebacker T.J. Edwards. Bears coach Ben Johnson confirmed after the game that both players will miss the rest of the postseason.

Edwards was carted off in the second quarter with a fractured left fibula. The 29-year-old appeared in 10 games this season, finishing with 67 tackles, a half-sack and five pass breakups. Trapilo suffered a torn patellar tendon late in the fourth quarter. A second-round pick in 2025, he became the team’s starting left tackle in Week 11.

Both injuries are expected to require surgery. According to Pro Football Doc, each carries a lengthy recovery timeline and could sideline both players into the early portion of the 2026 season.
