Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid returned to action Tuesday night after missing 29 games with a meniscus flap tear in his left knee that required surgery in early February.
Embiid scored 24 points in 29 minutes Tuesday against the Thunder, with half the points coming at the free-throw line. He was wearing a knee brace and clearly gassed in first quarter, but his performance improved as the game went on.
His final line included 7 assists and 3 steals, but as many turnovers as rebounds (6). He shot 6-14 from the floor, including 0-3 from 3-point range, but was 12-12 from the free-throw line.
The team will gradually build up his minutes heading toward the end of the regular season but he's unlikely to play in back-to-backs.
His next chance to play comes Thursday in Miami against the Heat.
