Every fantasy football season features players whose average draft position (ADP) climbs higher than their actual risk profile warrants. While talent remains a major factor, injuries, durability concerns, offensive line play, and projected workload often determine whether a player returns value. Here are four players whose current ADPs leave little margin for error heading into the 2026 fantasy football season.
De'Von Achane, RB – Miami Dolphins
Current ADP: 13
Achane possesses league-winning explosiveness, but his current ADP assumes he can handle a true workhorse role over a full NFL season—something he has yet to prove. Dating back to his time at Texas A&M, durability has been a recurring concern, and Miami enters 2026 with significant questions along the offensive line due to youth and injuries.
Game script also presents a challenge. The Dolphins project to be underdogs in several contests, potentially forcing a pass-heavy approach and limiting rushing volume. Mobile quarterback Malik Willis also introduces additional rushing competition near the goal line and on designed quarterback runs, reducing Achane's weekly touchdown ceiling.
At an early second-round price, there are safer cornerstone backs available. Saquon Barkley, Omarion Hampton, and Kenneth Walker all project to offer comparable upside with fewer durability and workload concerns.
Malik Nabers, WR – New York Giants
Current ADP: 34
SIC Score has remained cautious on Nabers since January following his offseason surgery, and that outlook has not changed despite positive offseason reports. While recent workout videos have fueled optimism, recovering from surgery often involves a gradual return to full explosiveness, particularly for receivers who rely on sudden acceleration and separation.
Nabers has elite long-term potential, but expectations may be outpacing reality entering 2026. Drafting him at his current ADP requires betting on an immediate return to peak form despite a shortened offseason.
Fantasy managers selecting in this range may find better value with healthier, more established options such as Tee Higgins, Tetairoa McMillan, or Zay Flowers.
Marvin Harrison Jr., WR – Arizona Cardinals
Current ADP: 77
Harrison endured one of the more difficult injury seasons among starting receivers in 2025. He battled multiple ailments, including a concussion, an emergency appendectomy, and heel injuries affecting both feet.
While he enters training camp healthy, recent practice footage suggests he has not yet regained the explosiveness expected from a true No. 1 receiver. That isn't necessarily uncommon after an offseason spent recovering from multiple issues, but it creates additional risk at his current draft price.
There are several receivers available in a similar ADP range who offer stronger value entering the season, including DK Metcalf, Alec Pierce, and Parker Washington.
Bo Nix, QB – Denver Broncos
Current ADP: 102
Nix finished the 2025 season battling a significant ankle injury that ultimately required two surgeries during the offseason. Although Denver has indicated he enters training camp without restrictions, lower-body injuries remain particularly important for quarterbacks whose game includes mobility outside the pocket.
Adding to the concern, Denver faces one of the tougher schedules in the NFL, ranking around the middle of the league in overall strength of schedule, while several quarterbacks being drafted later benefit from more favorable situations.
At his current ADP, there are quarterbacks with similar or greater fantasy upside at a lower cost. Jared Goff operates behind one of the NFL's premier offensive lines in an explosive offense, while Matt Stafford continues to offer strong passing volume and touchdown potential in Los Angeles.
