The TCU Horned Frogs are heading to the National Championship to play Georgia. But TCU is 12.5 point underdog, according to FanDuel sportsbook. A big reason for this considerable betting spread is the injury to Kendre Miller.
Miller led the Horned Frogs in rushing with 1,399 yards and 17 touchdowns. In the team’s game against Michigan, he had 57 yards on eight carries.
But, then injury struck for Miller.
Michigan defensive back Makari Paige pulled him down in the third quarter. The injury caused Miller to leave the game and not return to action.
According to our pro football docs, Miller suffered a mild right MCL sprain against Michigan. But, it is possible that Miller could play with disconformity for one game.
TCU coach Sonny Dykes said Miller is “questionable” for the National Championship game.
“We’re hoping to get Kendre back,” Dykes said to the media… As the week progresses, we’ll know a little bit more.”
Miller’s absence would be a massive blow to TCU because backup running back Emari Demercado doesn’t even have half the yards that Miller has. Demercado’s role this season has been to spare Miller when he’s fatigued.
But, when Miller went out against Michigan, Demercado took over the game, rushing for a season-high of 150 yards.
The TCU Horned Frogs might have found a bell cow for their game against Georgia.
