Ja Morant Injury: Grizzlies Star Exits After Fall on Hand

Update: Postgame, head coach Taylor Jenkins told reporters that Morant's X-rays were negative but he will undergo more testing on his hand/wrist.

Memphis Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant exited mid-way through the fourth quarter after taking a nasty fall that injured his right hand.

By video, the Pro Basketball Docs do not believe anything is broken in Morant's right hand.

At most, he may have ligament damage in his fingers that will affect his shooting, but should have full ability to dribble and finish at the rim.

Based on video of the injury, Morant has a good chance to suit up for Game 2, according to the Pro Basketball Docs.

Morant fell from a great height after colliding with Anthony Davis at the rim and his fingers bent backwards, causing him to exit the game immediately.

He went to the locker room, but returned to the bench a short time later with his fingers taped.

Morant was already dealing with a ring/middle finger injury coming into the game and had his hand taped.

The Lakers and Grizzlies series continues on Wednesday, giving Morant essentially three days rest before he hits the court again.
