Kupp returned to practice on Aug. 21 but is now “day-to-day” according to head coach Sean McVay.The Pro Football Docs had concerns about his high fantasy ADP prior to the hamstring strain and those concerns remain.Quarterback Matthew Stafford had a spinal contusion that prematurely ended the previous season and he's still at risk for that injury this season. Joe Burrow - SIC score 87Cincinnati’s gunslinger returned to practice on Wednesday for the first time since his right calf strain on July 27. Our panel of doctors had no doubts about him starting Week 1, but still believe he will have limited ability to escape and run from the pocket in the early weeks of the season.Jerry Jeudy - SIC score 36While it’s good news Jeudy initially avoided placement on the short-term IR, the fact his hamstring was significant enough for the team to consider IR does not bode well.Soft-tissue injuries tend to linger and Denver will likely be cautious when easing him back into action. Jeudy may potentially miss matchups against the Raiders, Commanders and Dolphins in the first three weeks of the season.Terry McLaurin - SIC score 45The Commanders’ No. 1 wideout suffered a right big toe injury in the team’s final preseason game on Aug. 21. While the team has said it’s a “mild” toe sprain, the Pro Football Docs have serious worries about his ability to play effectively Week 1 and beyond.By video, he suffered at least a Grade 2 turf toe injury which will limit his ability to be explosive and cut on routes.Given his injury, it would not be a surprise to see him miss the first few weeks of the season. He hasn’t been spotted at practice recently.Jaxon Smith-Njigba - SIC score 24As of Thursday, the Pro Football Docs are not confident Jaxon Smith-Njigba will play Week 1 against the Rams. Smith-Njigba returned to the practice field on Tuesday donning a soft cast on his left wrist while catching passes. While some may think it’s a positive sign he was back at practice, ball security and blocking will be an issue for him until he’s 100% healed, which likely won’t come until Week 3 or Week 4 of the regular season. The Pro Football Docs believe there’s still a possibility he lands on IR and is out until after the team’s Week 5 bye.Dalvin Cook - SIC score 92Cook, the newest addition to the revamped New York Jets, practiced for the first time on Monday since undergoing offseason surgery to fix the labrum in his left shoulder. He enters the season as the healthier running back, compared to Breece Hall. The second-year back out of Iowa State has a season SIC score of 65 as he continues his recovery from the Week 7 ACL tear that ended his rookie season.Jonathan Taylor - SIC score 91The Jonathan Taylor/Colts saga took another turn on Monday with his placement on the PUP list. Taylor will miss the first four games of the season, but the Pro Football Docs assert his absence is related to his contract dispute with the team, not his offseason ankle surgery. How to Access The Preseason Injury ReportTo get the 2023 NFL PRESEASON INJURY REPORT - go to https://sicscore.com/upgradeThen purchase the new SIC DATA subscription for just $2.99 a week, or $49.99 for a year of access to our leading injury data including SIC Health Scores and Field Views for every regular season NFL game! You'll instantly be sent an email from firstname.lastname@example.org containing the live 2023 NFL PRESEASON INJURY REPORT.If you only want access to the live report for a week you can cancel the subscription at anytime. For continued access to the live report all preseason plus more it's just $2.99 a week or go the SIC DATA annual pass which works out to be just $0.14 per day.
