Update: X-rays on Bridgewater's pinky came back negative for a fracture. However, he's dealing with a dislocation that could affect his grip in Week 18.
Miami Dolphins quarterback Teddy Bridgewater exited late in the third quarter after hitting his finger on the hand of a Patriots defender.
By video, Bridgewater appeared to hit his right ring finger on Josh Uche's hand while completing the throwing motion.
He remained on the sideline, then was deemed questionable to return with a finger injury.
Finger injuries are tough to return from for quarterbacks because of how vital the fingers are for grip, according to the Pro Football Docs. He went to the locker room, likely for X-rays.
Skyler Thompson is in to replace him.
Tua Tagovailoa remains in concussion protocol after reportedly experiencing symptoms while watching film after the team's Week 16 game.
He has suffered two concussions this season and his return timeline remains murky, even if the Dolphins can clinch a playoff berth.
