All-pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel returned to practice this week after he missed the last two games with a left high-ankle sprain with likely MCL involvement.
The 25-year-old, SIC score 60, was ruled out for the 49ers' Week 17 contest against the Raiders as the NFC West champions attempt to have Samuel ready for the playoffs.
San Francisco has won eight straight games, four of which featured either an injured Samuel or no Samuel at all, and are favored by nine-and-a-half points in Las Vegas against new quarterback Jarrett Stidham.
After a breakout 2021, Samuel has struggled through various injuries during the second half of the season to the tune of 45 total touches for 359 yards and two rushing touchdowns in six games since Week 7.
The mid-season addition of Christian McCaffrey has proved vital to the offense: In the 9 games since his 49ers debut vs the Chiefs, McCaffrey has 173 total touches for 938 yards and eight touchdowns and has three games of 20-plus touches.
