Cooper Kupp Injury: Rams WR Exits With Ankle Sprain, Likely Heading to IR

Update: After the game, head coach Sean McVay said he didn't have an update on Cooper Kupp's ankle injury, but “it didn't look good. It didn't sound good.” His X-rays were reportedly negative but he is still likely to be placed on IR and miss at least the next four game.

Los Angeles Rams superstar wideout Cooper Kupp left early in the fourth quarter with a severe right ankle injury.

By video, Kupp was landed on at high speed by a defender on a deep incompletion. The injury mechanism is consistent with a severe high ankle sprain with a possible fibula fracture.

Kupp remained down on the ground after the injury and was helped to the bench without putting any weight on it.

He was looked at on the bench, then limped to the locker room.

Kupp will undergo an X-ray to rule out a fracture, then an MRI to determine the damage to his ankle.

Either way, he is unlikely to play next week against the Saints and would be fortunate to avoid a multi-week absence.

Kupp suffered a minor right ankle sprain in Week 8 against the 49ers, but returned to play in Week 9.

He finishes the day with 3 catches for -1 yard on 5 targets.
