Will Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs Be Ready for Training Camp?

Former All-Pro cornerback Trevon Diggs is reportedly expected to be ready for training camp when the Dallas Cowboys begin their season in Oxnard next month. Diggs suffered a torn ACL in practice ahead of Week 3 last season.

We are pessimistic at sicscore.com with the reports that Diggs will be ready for training camp as he recovers from an early 2023 season ACL tear (Sept).

We do not expect him to be fully effective to start the year and won’t truly be himself until the 2025 season. The good news is Diggs will be back in the lineup this year the bad news is he will not be himself physically for most of the 2024 season.

In June, Diggs provided an update on his recovery, stating that he is progressing well but remains uncertain about his availability for the start of camp. "Maybe," Diggs said. "Maybe not. But I’m feeling comfortable. I feel good."

Diggs, a two-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro in 2021 continues to rehabilitate, and the Cowboys are counting on him to return to his pre-injury form. The team did not re-sign veteran cornerback Stephon Gilmore this offseason, indicating their reliance on Diggs. They plan to pair him with 2023 All-Pro DaRon Bland, who led the league with nine interceptions and set an NFL record with five pick-sixes.

Since entering the NFL in 2020, Diggs has recorded 18 interceptions, tying him for the second-most in the league during that period. He trails only two-time Pro Bowl safety Justin Simmons, who has 19 interceptions.
