Will Saints Have Jameis Winston, Michael Thomas vs Seahawks?

Quarterback Jameis Winston and veteran wide receiver Michael Thomas were both absent from Saints' practice on Wednesday after missing their Week 4 loss in London.

Thomas, who is dealing with a toe injury, has a chance to play this week but Winston is trending towards potentially sitting again with transverse back fractures and an ankle injury, according to the Pro Football Docs.

Thomas suffered the toe injury midway through their loss to the Panthers in Week 3 that the Saints reportedly consider minor but he sat out in London, along with Winston and late scratch running back Alvin Kamara.

While the severity of the toe injury remains unclear, the 29-year-old will likely be limited if he does suit up, according to the Pro Football Docs. His ankle issues are not fully behind him and he had a hamstring strain to start the year too.

Winston played through his back fractures – which are painful but not structurally significant – in Week 3 but didn't practice at all last week.

Winston is still only 11 months since suffering a torn ACL with MCL damage and is also dealing with a reported ankle injury, so another week or two of rest is well within the realm of possibility.

Jarvis Landry played through an ankle injury but brought in two receptions for seven yards while rookie Chris Olave had another strong contest with four catches for 67 yards and his first career touchdown.
