The Denver Broncos are entering the 2022 NFL season with one of the best WR rooms in football for new QB Russell Wilson to air the ball out. However, how healthy is his new wide receiver corps? Let’s take a look at Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, and K.J. Hamler.
Jeudy is a ripe 23-years-old and now entering his 3rd season in the NFL following a disappointing start to his career in Denver. Jeudy was pretty banged up last season missing six games with a significant high ankle sprain.
However, we at sicscore.com do not believe this injury will carry over into his 2022 season meaning Jeudy will enter the year with a high SIC Score of a 95.
The Alabama alum suffered a minor groin injury in June of 2022 that kept him out of the team’s voluntary OTAs but we hold little concern on the issue.
Jeudy will be a very polarizing player this season for fantasy with the addition of Russell Wilson to this offense. Can he take the next step with Wilson now at the helm?
The former SMU wideout is heading into his 5th season in the NFL and has a lot to prove with his new quarterback, a potential opportunity to become a star player for years to come.
This is Sutton’s 2nd season back from a torn ACL which is great considering his level of play in 2021 coming off the ACL tear was impressive. Sutton has suffered a variety of minor injuries since the ACL tear, but only missed one game.
Sutton enters the 2022 NFL season with a SIC Score of 95. Sutton’s dominant physical frame could pose a familiarity for Russell Wilson with the possibility of him becoming the DK Metcalf of the Broncos offense to Jerry Jeudy’s Tyler Lockett.
The Penn Stater unfortunately holds a much different fate than his fellow Broncos WRs. Hamler enters the 2022 NFL season with a lowly SIC Score of 23.
The WR is coming off an offseason that consisted of repairing his ACL which included LCL damage. The speedster also underwent surgery on his hip, which is never good news to hear for a downfield receiving threat that relies on explosion and speed to bust open secondaries.
Hamler has suffered a laundry list of other injuries in his time in the NFL including three different hamstring injuries and a concussion. Hamler will be facing a major uphill battle in 2022.
